Joseph went to the WIC office to get certified, today, and they weighed and measured him. He was 19 lbs and 28 in. Most of you will think that's ridiculously small (he's 5th percentile for both) but it's still several pounds heavier than Elena at the same age. Tomorrow is his checkup at the pediatrician (eww... shots).

It doesn't seem ridiculously small to me, although I'm sure Tess will be bigger at 12 months. What does it mean to get certified?
They check to see how he's growing, check his iron level, make sure we're still poor/not eating enough of the right foods (it's really more dietary than financial), that sort of thing.
