It started at about 4:00 AM, when she slapped me repeatedly to announce that her water had broke. We called in our emergency babysitter to make sure nothing caught fire till Gramma could arrive. Some other stuff happened and then THIS!
We are happy to announce the arrival of James Franklin, our healthy baby boy, born at 11:39 this morning, weighing 7 lbs 10 oz, and measuring 19 1/2 in. I'm sure Lisa will have a more in-depth account to share with you, but labor went smoothly (or at least as smoothly as labors go), and she handled it like a pro.
We got a few hours of rest, before the kids popped in for a brief visit to meet their future co-conspirator.
Oh and sorry for not posting updates with Twitter; I don't think we were quite ready for that, seeing as how the kid came nearly 2 weeks before his due date and my cell wasn't set up to text in updates (or some explanation like that; Lisa knows how that was supposed to work, not me).

Congratulations! I am glad to hear the details because when you called you talked to a drugged Nate who has been sick for way too long and his clouded head was unable to remember much except that it was a boy! Sigh- he was trying. I hope you are all doing well. What a cutie!
