We had so much fun swimming with our cousins at Bridget and Tess's birthday party. We had yummy ice cream, caterpillar cupcakes, and Tess was greatly amused by the giant rubber duckie we brought. Afterward, we went to pick up Jonathan at work. Joseph had fallen asleep, but woke up when we'd sat too long with the engine off. Circling the parking lot, I explained to Elena that Joseph likes the hum of the engine. She said it sounded like M. I agreed, but she said I was saying it wrong. "Well, how do you say it?" I asked, and she started listing off letters while I, just for the fun of it, tried to figure out what she was spelling. Mo... mords... mordstr... Nordstrom!?! She'd read the letters off the sign on the side of the building. I guess all that time playing Big Bird really paid off.

That's so cute! Little smarty pants. I got the cutest pictures of Tess with the big duck.
