On The Waterfront

I'm only a week behind, but I have pictures from our annual jaunt to the lake. Everyone got to ride the big boat, who wanted to. Dan knows a pretty big sandbar in one of the coves, so we went there to splash in the minor surf and dig in the super-soft sand. I got Jonathan to dig me a hole and just laid there in my stomach and let the water wash over me. So good.

Jonathan went out in one of the kayaks but never quite got the chance to tube. Elena went with him for all of two minutes before she decided that she'd rather play in the grass. Joseph didn't go out in the kayak, but did think that they're really cool.

The kids had a great time, despite the drama of Buzzy's dehydration full body cramp, and Elena falling off the dock twice (once with floaties, once without--it's really shallow there so she just stood up, but still had a bit of hysterics). Us? It was fun and all, but I think next year we're going by ourselves. Too much stress.

Looks like ya'll had a good time. I'd love to go to the beach but most of ours are closed due to evil flood waters.
