A Year of Knitting

(WARNING: This post is picture heavy. But so pretty...)

Remember this picture from last year?

Those were my plans for the year, knitting-wise. As usually happens in life, some got done, others didn't, and a bunch of other stuff found it's way in, too.

There were tall socks to keep my feet from freezing at the Temple.

Fingerless gloves to keep my hands warm but still functional. (I hate it when I can't feel what it is I'm touching. It makes me feel all fumbley.)

Socks for James.

And Jonathan.

A small shawl to keep the chill off. I've actually got this one wrapped around my neck right this moment.

Socks for me, too.

There were gifts, too. For Craig's graduation.

Regan's birthday.

Richard's first baby. (A boy. The headband is because I had extra yarn and it pays to be prepared for future possibilities.)

(and an actual view of the sweater.)

More socks. (It was a sock club, after all.) Mine...

and Jonathan again.

Costume help for some nieces and their friends.

New stockings for Mom and Dad.

Sweaters for Elena and Joseph. (James just likes to say cheese for the camera.)

Socks for Mom and Dad, too.

And then there's these. Ready and waiting for their Owner's arrival, in June.

(I know June is hot. Hospitals are cold, though, and my baby absolutely deserves cashmere.)

My goodness, you have been busy. I have seen many of these, but that is not the same as seeing them all at once. Congratulations and good work.

I recall that you planned to complete 12 projects, and I'm counting more than 12 there!

You make such gorgeous knit work.

That's not everything, either. There's a pair of socks and a pair of gloves, among others, that got started but not finished, and a baby set for another friend (hat, mittens & booties) that I somehow lost the pictures to.

I love my socks. They are keeping my feet nice and warm.

How many of the projects finished actually correspond to the packets in the first picture? It looked to me like you might have several of the original projects still waiting to be done.

About half are still waiting. If you number the baggies like you read a page: 2 is the shawlette, 3 is the tall socks, 5 is two pairs of anklets, 11 is the fingerless gloves, and 12 had a second ball of yarn join it and changed from gloves to Jonathan's brown socks. I think 4 and 7 have been separated from their patterns, by now. I ought to post this year's line-up.
